FAQs
What is gestational surrogacy?
Gestational surrogacy is a process where one person, who did not provide the egg used in conception, carries a fetus through pregnancy and gives birth to a baby for another person or couple. They do not have any genetic ties to the child.
What will your child call you?
Mike is going by Dad, and Ben is going by Abba (“Ah-Bah” - the Hebrew word for dad - not the Swedish pop sensations).
Who is the mother of the child?
There isn’t one 😱. Lauren will be our kid’s aunt. As a member of our chosen family, Anna will also be called an aunt (and John an uncle).
Do you have a name picked out?
We have some we like, but we haven’t decided yet.
Where will the baby be born?
Since Anna lives in Virginia, that's where the baby will be born too. We're flying out early and we will stay for at least a few weeks to make sure he is healthy (and to get birth certificates and legal paperwork completed). When we're ready (or as ready as we'll ever be) the three of us will then fly back to our home in Los Angeles.
